今年の秋は、とても暖かな日々が続いていますね。2013年も残すところ2ヶ月を切りましたが、年末のホリデーシーズンの雰囲気にひたるのが、まだ早いように思える暖かさです。が、バラのような色が美しいビール「ラズベリー ホーン™」を飲めば、ホリデー気分が一気に盛り上がること間違いありません！Beer Hornでは、ラズベリーを原料としたベルギービールスタイルのビールを既に作っており、今年の春には「チェリー ホーン™」を皆さんにお楽しみいただきました。「チェリー ホーン™」と同様に、ベルギーでは、果汁を使ってフレーバーを付けたビールが盛んに作られ、フルーツビールとして楽しまれています。このフルーツビールは、同じくベルギーの有名なビールで「ランビック」と呼ばれるものとは違うタイプです。ランビックが自然界に存在する天然の酵母を用いて、ゆっくりと長い時間をかけて発酵されるのに対し、フルーツビールは比較的に早く発酵が終了します。 私たちの印象では、フルーツビールは、伝統的なランビックよりも、軽く、クリスピーな味わいです。

Beer Hornでお楽しみいただく「ラズベリー ホーン™」は、爽やかな酸味が特徴です。ホップの軽い苦みが、ベースとなるビールの醸造に使われたラズベリーの果汁と良く合います。6週間以上をかけて、フルーツとモルトのタンニンが馴染み合うまで熟成させた、「ラズベリーの味わいの傑作」とBeer Hornが誇るビールです。色合いはバラのようなピンク。はつらつとした爽やかな味わいと泡立ちをお楽しみください。できる限りの軽めにおさえたうえで、ほのかに甘く、フルーツを感じさせるテイストに仕上げました。

Raspberry Horn™

This is quite a warm Autumn we are having this year! It makes it a bit hard to get into the feeling of the up-coming holiday season. However, we have a blushing-rose-colored beer that should help begin to get you moving towards a Holiday feeling! Beer Horn has come up with a Raspberry Beer very much in the Belgium-style. As we explained with our Cherry Horn™ earlier this Spring, many of the Belgium breweries produce a base beer that they flavor with Fruit extracts to be sold as Belgium Fruit Beers. These are not the Lambics which are fermented with a plethora of micro-flora, slowly over a period of time, but fruit-brewed beers which come of age a bit more quickly. We feel these have a bit lighter and crisper flavor than the traditional Lambics, but that is just us.

For our Raspberry Horn™ we make a refreshingly, tart beer which includes a certain amount of hops for a light bitterness that goes well with the raspberry fruit extract that we use to brew our fruit beer. This beer is then aged for at least six weeks to mellow the fruit and malt tannins to allow them come together in what we believe is our Raspberry masterpiece. The color of the beer is a blush-pink color with a very effervescent, spritely flavor. We keep the beer as light as we can and still have a slightly-sweet, fruit-forward flavor just for you.

Raspberry Horn™ is magic in our Beer Horn Glasses. We think that just one will not be enough for anyone, therefore, we are hosting a debut party on Friday, November 15. At this party we will have a special Nomihodai Party in which you can get more than one glass of this blushing wonder! Make your reservations for an evening of fun.
